Georgios Panagopoulos MD

Dr. Panagopoulos was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Rome La Sapienza School of Medicine, Italy, in 2005, with honorary distinction (magna cum laude) for being among the highest-ranking medical students in his class. He completed his specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Athens School of Medicine (Attikon University Hospital), in 2016.

He further refined his training by undertaking a subspecialty fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), United States, between 2016 and 2017. He then proceeded to complete a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the world-renowned Reading Shoulder Unit, Reading, UK between 2018 and 2020. Next, he undertook a fellowship in Complex Reconstructive Shoulder & Elbow Surgery (2020) at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, UK where he focused on Revision Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty and Shoulder ArthroscopySubsequently, he completed an Upper Limb Trauma fellowship at the Royal London Hospital (2020-2021), and became a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon at the same Institution (2021-2022). Of note, the aforementioned hospital is the busiest Major Trauma Centre in the United Kingdom.
